Club Philosophy

Jake Martin and Jonathan Baird founded Roc City Volleyball Club in 2016 to provide additional opportunities for boys to play competitive volleyball outside of the school season. The club welcomes boys from all schools throughout the Greater Rochester, Syracuse, Finger Lakes, and Western New York area who are interested in improving their skills at a competitive level with qualified coaches.

We strive to make our players not just great volleyball players, but to teach great leadership skills and core values that will help them grow to be successful on and off the volleyball court. We help our players’ make modified, JV, varsity and college teams. We will help your son in any way to get them to play at the next level in their career from contacting coaches, helping in the application process or private coaching.

Coaching is what sets RCVC apart from many clubs in the area and country! Many of our coaches are current or past high school or college coaches that have won multiple Regional, National Bid, County, Section 5 and State Titles. All of our coaches have the same philosophy and work together so the club is consistent and players can grow year after year in the right direction. For each age group we have at least 2 coaches that work with each individual team.

While any club/travel team has expenses, we try to keep Roc City Volleyball Club as affordable as possible with all costs explained in advance. We encourage parent involvement with the hopes that this is a positive experience not only for the athletes but for the parents as well. To lower costs we have been known to do some great fundraisers that truly saves each family hundreds of dollars.

Club Director Jake Martin is energetic, very knowledgeable and passionate for the sport with over 10 years of experience. He, along with his coaching staff and parent support group, strive to make this a club of excellence.
